WHERE TO BEGIN CHOOSING YOUR BRIDAL HEADWEAR? FROM BRIDAL TIARAS AND CRYSTAL WEDDING HAIRPINS TO TIARA HEADBANDS AND CROWN TIARAS...

Princess rhinestone and pearl tiaras, wedding tiara headbands, bridal tiara crowns, crystal and pearl tiara combs, wedding combs and rhinestone and pearl hairpins that can be worn with or without a veil, we have the wedding hair accessories that work with any bridal hairstyle to complete your wedding-day look.

Every girl wants the fairytale wedding and no princess is complete without her crown tiara. However, no one princess is the same and not all bridal head pieces will suit every princess. Today’s bride can choose from an in expensive crown tiara from a high street accessory shop or a bespoke head-dress designed to order. The bridal market is brimming with ideas from rhinestone studded tiaras, circular pearl and crystal headbands, a more delicate tiara comb to compliment an upswept hairstyle, romantic mini crown tiaras adorned with coloured crystals, and so on, for brides, bridesmaids and flower girls.

Comfort is a very important factor when choosing your headpiece and accessories. Tiaras are available on a variety of different bases, some solid and some flexible. As a bride, you have enough to worry about and you need a headpiece you can forget is there from the moment it is placed on your head. Alternatively, you may prefer to wear hair crystals, hair pins or tiara combs, which are lighter and may be less imposing.

Although tiaras are available in a whole variety of colours, designs more generally fall into one of the following categories: pearls, rhinestone crystals, or metallic shades. There are no hard and fast rules governing which tiara colour schemes to choose but a few guidelines do exist. If you are wearing a cream or ivory dress, a cream pearl tiara will maintain the general colour scheme, whilst silver, white pearl and crystal bridal accessories better enhance the cool, winter tones of a pure white wedding gown.

Types of bridal tiaras

Tiaras: Known as the 'princess of headpieces,' a tiara offers an impressive effect. Tiaras are regal and thus appropriate for formal weddings (although they can complement any gown, hairstyle or veil). They range from tiny, delicate pieces meant to surround a small bun, to larger, more ornately decorated items fit for a princess or queen. Simpler tiaras and crowns work well with a veil. When accented with pearls, rhinestones, or crystals, they can stand alone without a veil. A sparkly tiara also helps accent your hairstyle, complement your jewellery, and draw attention to your face. A tiara is a fantastic bridal accessory to complement your wedding any gown. Tiaras can be worn with or without a veil and are usually accented with pearls, rhinestones and crystals. They compliment upswept hairstyles as well as shorter hairstyles.

Headbands: Wedding headbands have become increasingly popular over the years as a substitute for a bridal tiara. Part of their popularity is their versatility for use with so many different hair styles. Whether you are wearing an up do style, a partial up do or your hair down, your wedding headband can add just the right amount of sparkle accents to give just the perfect wedding day look. A bridal headband can be very functional: for brides who want to wear their hair down, a headband can be used to keep her hair away from her face and add a touch of glamour to a simple hairstyle. It also can be worn to accent upswept hairstyles as well by wrapping it around a wide bun.

Double Headbands: A double headband is the most versatile bridal tiara of all as it can be worn flat on the head as a headband, tilted forward in tiara style or wrapped around a wide bun. Double headbands are also very popular when you want the feeling of a tiara but not the height of the tiara. When worn the first crystal headband fits closely to the crown of your head and the second band sits just slightly higher. These types of wedding headbands work well for partial upswept hairstyles. Using colour in your wedding headband can be even more stunning.

Mini crown tiaras: A small crown tiara is a completely circular tiara that is worn around an updo hairstyle. Made from crystals and pearl, a crown is a very classic bridal headpiece. They are also great for adding to flower girls hair to make them look like a princess on your wedding day. Bridal crowns are a good choice for a headpiece if you decide to wear your hair in a curly up do or have a short cut. These types of bridal headpieces can be worn alone or with a detachable veil.

Tiara combs: A tiara comb is a semi-circular tiara that is worn around an updo hairstyle. Tiara combs are very versatile as you can use them with almost any hairdo. Like most headpieces, you can wear them with or without a veil. Choosing your model will depend on your hairdo so you should speak with your hairdresser.

Combs: If you want people to focus on your hair and not your headpiece, you can skip the veil altogether and use barrettes or small combs instead. These can be as simple or ornamental as you like, ranging from natural to embellished with flowers, pearls, beads, crystals, or rhinestones. A comb is a simple bridal accessory that can be worn with almost any hairstyle. Depending on the hairstyle, it can sometimes provide for a less formal look. Simple in style and small in size, the decorative comb with a veil is a good choice for the bride who wants to keep her headpiece understated. These pieces are just a design with a comb directly behind the design. There are no bands that go down the side or around the back of the head.

Hair pins: The best wedding hair pins are as decorative as they are functional, and can accentuate a hairstyle perfectly. They help keep your hairstyle in place while making your whole wedding ensemble complete, even when the veil is removed for the reception. You can pair them with a tiara or a tiara comb for extra sparkle.
